Book Box Mixed Media Tutorial by DT Mounika Koneru

Hi Everyone,
Its Mounika here today at the blog, to share mixed media MDF Book box step by step tutorial.

Let's get into project
First I took primed MDF bookstyle box or you can prime the box using white light gesso. Once gesso is dry using sand paper lightly sand the box and cleaning nicely with dry cloth.

Took stencil secure it on box using tape ,stenciled it using texture paste in side of box. Let it dry completely.

On top of box I applied thick layer of texture paste and stamp randomly using wooden blocks and to create texture randomly dab on using my finger. Left the box overnight to dry completely.

Once texture paste completely dry applied flesh tint acrylic colour allover the box.

Later mixed turquoise blue with Decoart antiquing medium applied all over box and while it is wet use a cloth or wet tissue rub over to remove excess colour.

Repeated above step with burnt sienna and antiquing medium.

Once everything is dry, I started layering Used corrugated sheet, chipboard, some Poppy flowers.

Applied papericous black gesso all over embellishments.

Glued all embellishments added some beads and prima marketing melange art pebbles and cover them with gesso.

Finally used light blue acrylic colour on corrugated sheet randomly and on flowers. Use prima art alchemy waxes to highlight the embellishments. I worked with waxes until I'm happy with final result.
